Weekly, I get comments from readers who aren’t really sure if their health problems are caused by environmental toxins. They find it hard to believe that our government and regulating agencies that are here to “protect our health and safety” could be acting on anything less than our best interests. The best reply I can supply is EDUCATION ! Here is some of that education.
“Last week we posted about the people in South America falling ill from the intense unregulated spraying of GM soy crops. Roundup Ready plants always allow and warrant the most dousing yet. We are well aware of the dangers of pesticides in both GM and non-GM produce. Fortunately, the biological changes of being pregnant somehow keep Glyphosate (Roundup) out of the bodies of pregnant women and their unborn babies.
But, the other form of GM toxicity doesn’t get as much traction – perhaps because officials and scientists have always assured us of its safety. They are the toxins built into the plant itself through genes, that work as a bio-pesticide, toxic to insects and other pests. Blood tests show that in this form, those toxins show up in 100% of pregnant women and their fetuses!
We can see evidence of the toxic effects by even just consuming animals who eat GM feed. Yet the USDA continues to flash green lights for GM crop approvals considering the crops safe for both animals, people, and children in the womb. Continue reading →
Like it or not, we are repeatedly exposed to radiation in our environment these days. Lots of folks are unaware of the dangers and risks of everyday conveniences that expose us to radiation: microwaves, cell phones, medical testing, irradiated foods, just to name a few.
Many studies have linked radiation exposure to increased risk of cancer. So what can we do to counter the damaging effects of radiation? Well, let’s start with diet.

“There are steps we can take all along to minimize and reverse damage from the many forms of radiation we encounter everyday.
The following are some simple food choices that can help your body combat radiation exposure on a regular basis. Some of them aid your body in sweeping out toxins, while others are nutrient-dense in vital minerals. Continue reading →

There are lots of detoxification products on the market and some do little more than “cleanse” your pocket book, sorry but it’s true. Here’s my reply to a comment that was received on my you tube channel, regarding the efficacy of detox foot baths.
We are fortunate to have a rich supply of “superfoods” available to us today……foods that, ounce for ounce, provide superior nutrition, trace minerals, and are rich in antioxidants.
Yet, as Dr. Mercola points out in this video, it’s important to get a good quality brand. It’s also important to recognize that there are options and alternatives. As in this case, Dr. Mercola recommends Chlorella, yet, Spirulina is equally as effective at detoxification. Chlorella is a green algae, Spirulina is a blue-green algae.
Both contain micro-nutrients that are superior for detoxification and provide increased cellular energy. I use Spirulina in my smoothies several times a week. Chlorella contains nutrients that Spirulina does not and vice versa. So I recommend using both….alternating the two, for the best results.
What Dr. Mercola doesn’t mention is the possible side effects of taking so many chlorella tabs…….a possible detox crisis!
Chorella is a powerful detoxifier, it’s important to recognize that the average person may be so full of toxins that they could experience a detox crisis when taking this much chlorella.
More is better, right? Not necessarily. It’s most important to work with a trained health care practitioner if you want to do a complete, enjoyable, and successsful detox…….I’ve seen too many people try to take a few pills and do it on their own, only to wind up with horrible headaches, nausea, and fatigue. They experience skin rashes because the body is trying to release toxins through the body’s largest organ, the skin.
I feel Dr. Mercola is right on the mark with his recommendations for bringing green superfoods into your diet and detox program. However, he is in the market to sell his own product! And I think it’s irresponsible to say that every individual should work up to taking 50 tabs a day. That is not holistic medicine or health care, that is selling a product. Every client should be treated based on their individual needs and lifestyle.
